Guided Group Tour of Curi-Cancha Reserve in Monteverde
One of the best ways to experience Monteverde’s famous cloud forest is to hike one of the reserves. The Curi-Cancha Reserve is a great option because it limits the number of people on the trails to 50 at a time.
Curi Cancha has a mix of easy and moderate trails and is especially known for birds. Toucans, trogons, the endangered Three-wattled Bellbird, Resplendent Quetzals, and many species of hummingbird can be seen. And for animals, agoutis, coatis, monkeys, deer, and even reptiles like snakes may be spotted in the cloud forest and rainforest habitat.
Because it can be very difficult to spot birds and animals in Monteverde (they are often hiding high up in the canopy or behind thick cloud cover), we highly recommend a naturalist guide. The company that we work with has excellent bilingual guides who are extremely knowledgeable about the cloud forest. We have had clients rave about this tour in the past.
