Private Birding Tour in Monteverde
Monteverde is a great place to see a diverse variety of birds. The guide that we recommend for this tour is a local who specializes in birding.
He starts the tour with about an hour of early morning birding in key locations along the road, then takes you to the Curi Cancha Reserve once it opens. Here, you can spot an abundance of tropical and migratory birds living in their natural habitat.
On the 4-5 hour tour, you’ll visit four different ecosystems. The guide will focus on spotting endemic species from the region such as the Coppery headed emerald, Black faced Solitaire, Black Guan, Prong billed Barbet, and Collared Redstart, among others. Depending on the time of the year, you might see a Resplendent Quetzal or even a Bellbird. A list of species spotted will be provided after the tour.
The tour starts in the early morning, when the birds are most active and cloud cover is minimal.
This is a private tour so you will have your own guide.
