First thanks for putting together this super informative site. My question is we will be staying for 4 days in Manuel Antonio (also 3 in Arenal) at the Parador. Is there any hidden gems that normal everyday tourist wouldn’t know about in that area? Whether its a nice view, hidden beach, or an excursion you highly recommend? My wife and I will be going with our 2 kids age 10 & 14. They’ve been hiking since they could walk so they can keep up pretty good for their age. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We will be getting private transfer to the hotel so I won’t have a car to easily get around, but if I know where to go i’m not opposed to a taxi or whatever you think would be best.
Thanks
Jason

Hi Jason, We have a whole post on off-the-beaten path activities around Manuel Antonio with a cool hidden beach, an awesome nature reserve with hanging bridges and waterfalls, a great wildlife tour that your kids would probably like, etc. Here’s the link: https://www.twoweeksincostarica.com/7-things-to-do-manuel-Antonio/. You need a car for some of them, but many are close and easily accessible by taxi. The wildlife rehabilitation tour (Kids Saving the Rainforest) will help you arrange transportation too. Hope your family has a great trip!
