Hello!
SO happy to have found your blog! Just literally starting to plan our trip to Costa Rica and want to stay in Puerto Viejo so your blog post on what to do there was incredibly helpful- Thank you!
Two questions –
- We have an almost 3 year old, born July 2014 and an almost 1 year old, born June 2016. Looks like yours is about 2. Let us know if you’d be interested in setting up a play date at some point! We are huge adventure travelers and love exposing our kids to other like minded families.
- I literally just hopped on airBnb and am starting my search but was curious if you have any recommendations on where we can find a rental with a cook! My sister and her boyfriend are interested in coming, as is our nanny. So we’d be 5 adults and 2 toddlers. Any advice is much appreciated.
- Do you recommend we rent a car or just arrange private transportation for 5 adults and 2 toddlers?
Thank you!
Hi Leann, We’d love to set up a playdate, that would be a lot of fun, but we live in the Southern Zone, quite far from Puerto Viejo. Let us know if you change your plans and end up in the Dominical area, though!
For a rental with a cook, we don’t know of anyone offering chef services in Puerto Viejo specifically, but there probably are some options. You can find people doing this in most of the popular tourist areas of the country. Your best option is probably to ask whoever you rent through in PV. They should have a lot of local connections.
If you are comfortable driving, that will probably be the easiest with young kids. Unless you stay right in downtown, which you probably won’t want to do because it’s more noisy, it’s easiest to get around PV with a car. If you haven’t seen it yet, check out our rental car discount. We get 10% off and free extras like second driver, free car seats, etc. There’s more info on this page of our site.
Hope that helps and you guys have a great time!
