Hi Jenn and Matt,
My boyfriend and I are going to Costa Rica for two weeks in August, and have found your blog very helpful! We are looking to rent a car, but are finding it difficult to figure out how much it is supposed to cost, which kind of car is necessary and how much deposit the rental companies can require (one of the companies wanted 5000 dollars in deposit). I just found out that you have a deal with the Adobe Car Rental, but can’t seem to figure out how it works.
On your site ( https://www.twoweeksincostarica.com/costa-rica-rental-car-discount/ ) it says to fill out the form, and we will be taken to the Adobe website with a discount. But there is no form. Do you still have this discount, if so, how does it work?
Cheers from Denmark,
Martin and Katrine
Hi Martin and Katrine,
Thanks for checking out our site and sorry for the late response. Yes we still offer the rental car discount. I’m not sure why the website isn’t displaying the widget for you, it seems to be working fine. Maybe try again with a different browser or if you are still having trouble let me know and I will get a quote from the company emailed to you.
The company we work with, Adobe, only requires a hold on your credit card of $1,500, but yes we have heard of other companies requiring up to $8,000! Adobe also doesn’t have any hidden charges, so whatever you see on the quote is the price you pay. As for what type of vehicle you need, a 4×4 is nice to have if you like exploring but isn’t always necessary. Let us know where you are going and we can help you decide.
